Fall 2020: Czech Online Courses (A2 level) 

The Institute of Czech Studies of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, a leading global institution in the field of Czech as a second language, is now offering the new course Czech Language Online (A2 level) – for the Fall Semester 2020.

The course is designed for students of Slavonic Studies and Eastern and Central European Studies.  Students entering the course should have knowledge of the Czech language at an A1 level.

The course emphasizes the practical skills of speaking. The structure of the course will be a combination of independent tasks and assignments through the Moodle learning management system and live Zoom sessions with the professor.

The course, running from 21 September to 11 December (14 weeks), will cover listening and reading, training in oral communication and writing, vocabulary development, and more. Please note there is a required level of A1 for this course. If you do not already have Czech experience, let us know and we can direct you to another course.

The course is worth 9 ECTS credits (4.5 US credits) and each week, there will be two 90-min. sessions + one 45-min. lecture + one thematic group consultation based on student requests and needs. The tuition is 1.200 EUR and the deadline to apply is 31 July. Upon successful completion of the course the participant would receive Certificate - Charles University Transcript of Records. Lecturers: Courses will be taught by Czech language professors based at The Institute of Czech Studies who are experts of Czech as L2 (second language).

Online Autumn Schools 2020 “Russian Studies in Real Russia”


Since the Online Summer Schools had been successful and popular among international participants, we are very delighted to share with you news that we are accepting applications for five online programs of our Autumn School at Ural Federal University.

We offer students to study for credit and explore Russia’s culture from the comfort of home via our University - Top 10 in Russia in QS World Rankings.

We offer a Russian language school at different levels – from complete beginners to the confident advanced learners. Our highly qualified professors and teachers at UrFU will help every learner to make a good progress in Russian language during the program’s time period.

During a period of 3 weeks, students will be able to communicate online with our certified teachers at Ural Federal University via using communicative approaches including online quests, tests, and games.

Moreover, the School offers lectures, seminars, visual tours and online meetings conducted by UrFU’s professors, teachers, and special Russian guests who will share with participants the untold stories about Russian culture, Russian Art, Russian Sport, Russian Society, History and Politics.

By the end of our Online Autumn School, participants will receive certificates from Ural Federal University and that is upon completing the program.
